The mine

The lithium mine would entail, as we already have seen from the results, that this type of industrial extractive techniques to open sky, problems for people's health, current economic activity and for the natural environment of our city:

• Direct and unambiguous aggression against the Health of the citizens of Cáceres, resident almost entirely less than 5 km from the area, polluting the air with harmful particles in suspension, monopolizing and contaminating the water of the mountains, real treasure, and threatening, due to its proximity, to vital infrastructures of the city. The Guadiloba supply reservoir, the drinking water treatment plant, the hospital, or the pioneer and recognized Center for Minimally Invasive Surgery and the future “City of Health”.

• Destruction of a unique landscape, public heritage of present and future
  citizenship. Erosion losses of tons of fertile soil, support of life on our planet, with a will of restoration of the damage, at least, uncertain in view of what has happened in recent times with other similar projects.

• Deterioration and difficulty of transit on public roads and paths traveled daily by countless people for health, leisure and professional dedication. Aggressions against neighboring private properties, harming the right to rest and a healthy environment of people residing in the environment.

• Health risks, while causing serious economic damage to agricultural and livestock professional and business initiatives (producers of quality food increasingly demanded), as well as those related to tourism in nature, sports, health, education, etc., which today enjoy an incomparable natural environment where to develop wich, in different of the wealth that they promise, it´s a public heritage.

• Elimination of the possibility of Cáceres positioning itself as a city of quality services and as a tourist destination with a longer stay than today, in which to combine historical heritage, nature and health.
